Gideon's Torch
OVERVIEW
Gideon's Torch is an ongoing engineering project at Taylor. It was originally conceived to be built and raced in Sunyrace 97 though was not completed in time. After two more years, in 1999, Taylor students pushed the car to completion and passed the long list of qualifications for the big Sunyrace '99. Unfortunately, its first few miles on the track a bolt came loose which resulted in the car crashing, ending the chance at that race. Gideon's Torch has now been relit though as Physics Engineering students rebuild it for various classes. Perhaps in the future it will be racing again.
