The CSE department has three general purpose computing labs available for student use. The first lab is in room 001 (pronounced "Double-Oh One") and consists of 16 computers and lots of tabletop space for working on projects. This room is equipped with 5 64-bit dual-core AMD computers with 1 gigabyte of RAM and dual 19-inch LCD monitors. Also, the lab features two specially-equipped group work areas, each complete with three 64-bit dual-core AMD computers with one gigabyte of RAM and 24-inch widescreen displays. The three computers in each work area are designed to allow for sharing of clipboards, keyboards, etc. for collaborative projects using software called Synergy, licensed under GPL.
