The data communications lab is an experimental lab not connected to the CSE or Taylor networks. This gives students the ability to learn how to build and manage a network, test out tools, and write software without worrying about messing something up on the university networks. This lab is equipped with 8 workstations, a server, two Cisco Catalyst 5000 switches (pictured), a Cisco 7200 series router, a Cisco 2501 router, a Cisco MC3810 access concentrator, and all the cabling for wiring the network however desired. In the past this lab has been used for network security training and developing implementations of different network protocols. |
